​After a happy and successful career in education, I now have the luxury of time to allow me to be creative every day. Art has always been a passion and, throughout my career, I hope that I have inspired and encouraged others to develop their own skills and discover the joy of painting, drawing and making. Even in the demanding and all- consuming years of my career in education, I still managed to make space to keep producing my own work.  I am pleased to be able to compile this online portfolio of past and recent original work to share with you.

 

I now work each day in my lovely garden studio: sometimes enjoying the solitude of personal space, sometimes enjoying the company of other painters and sometimes welcoming people new to the joy of painting. I love to paint and stitch using a varity of media and enjoy trying out new ways of using the materials. New work might be inspired by a flower from the garden, a photo from a walk, an outdoor sketch or even a tube of paint or skein of thread in a particular colour. My work has a simple, design- orientated style that aims to capture the essence and beauty of each subject chosen.

I work on regular private commissions, embroideries and paintings.
